CAEMENTVM stands out as the result of the combination of art and design with building coatings. The concrete, which has been revalued and ennobled by architects and designers in the last few years, is produced according to a slow and particular handcrafted process and is therefore elevated to a real work of art.
The art technique, which is the most similar to our products, is a mixture of mosaic and fresco; however, unlike these two techniques according to which the decoration is made on the surface only, in our works it is the material itself that creates the subject.
The concrete, which can be prepared in various shades and nuances, is dripped by hand a drop at a time until the desired subject takes shape, thus creating a monolithic slab of a fixed size.
It takes about an average of three months to carry out the process of letting our mixture dry and mature and at the end of this time the slab gains strength and elasticity and its surface looks like marble with a semiglossy finishing and is smooth to the touch.
The slab, whose sizes can measure up to 300 cm x 200 cm and which is 3 cm thick, can be employed in the field of architectural coatings by offering an endless range of solutions. The product can be installed and if necessary removed on walls, ceilings, floors, tops of kitchen workbenches and tables, inside and outside and with the proper surface finishing suitable for the kind of use the product is created for. It is also possible to carry out large-sized seamless coating works directly in situ, thus producing insulation coatings such as double boarding or ventilation walls.
The real innovation, which is attested by the invention patent registered and officialised in 2013, consists in the possibility of reproducing any kind of subject by means of this technique that uses an extremely versatile material with a high mechanical resistance and suitable for coping with any weather and environmental aggression as well. Art can therefore be taken to locations where it could not be appreciated so far.
The range of subjects is almost unlimited: photographs, monochromes, imitation marbles, trompe l’oil, textures, portraits, funerary art works and reproductions of still existing works result in an aesthetic outcome that is hardly noticeable in other art creations.
The range of our products is being developed thanks to the possibility of using the most up-to-date raw materials such as the photocatalytic concrete, a material that by reacting to the light activates an oxidative process that transforms organic and inorganic noxious substances into absolutely innocuous compounds. In other words, the photocatalyst accelerates the decomposition of the pollutants and prevents their cumulation. Our slabs can therefore be used in living and working environments as well as in exhibition areas in order to make the environmental air much healthier.
By outdoor installations the photocatalytic concrete prevents the formation and the cumulation of mosses and yellowing or darkening substances, which cause crackings and fissurings in the material. Our products are properly treated with water-repellent and UV-resistant screening filters and are therefore nearly everlasting.
There is also the possibility of inserting a photoluminescent pigment in our works, which makes them visible also in the dark and finally gives them a spectacular, three-D look.
